Georgia's  Beach  House

Our Story

During the late spring of 2015, we decided to get a doggie companion for our Yorkie-Poo, “Lola”.  We have had two previous Golden Retrievers when the kids were younger and we all adored and missed them both after they passed away of old age.  So, it was a pretty easy decision to get another Golden Retriever, and we named her Georgia Peaches!

A co-worker at my wife Michele’s work suggested that we take Georgia and Lola to the white sandy dog beach at Port Burwell Provincial Park.  Georgia instantly fell in love with the long stretch of beach, running, swimming and playing fetch in the warm, shallow water.

We hadn't heard much about Port Burwell before as Londoners but decided we should spend some time looking seriously for a cottage where Georgia and Lola could play and swim on a more regular basis.  We found the perfect cottage, and a million dollar view of the main beach and Lake Erie.  It was a cozy, charming three bedroom beach house that had been renovated and came equipped with all the amenities we were looking for and short walking distance to both the beach and village.

We bought this beach house in March of 2016.  Unfortunately, just before we left for Mexico during the March Break we were devastated to find out that our puppy Georgia was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer.  As you can imagine, our whole family was heart broken and Georgia passed away soon thereafter.

We wanted to celebrate her life and keep her spirit alive because if it weren’t for her we would have never discovered the beauty, and tranquility that this quirky, quaint fishing village had to offer.  So, we decided to name it Georgia’s Beach House in memory of her!  We continue to spend some quality time up there with family and friends to relax, laugh and recharge our batteries when we can.

We have recently added another Golden Retriever puppy named her “Charlee” which is short for “Princess Charlotte of the Burl.”  She loves to play on the beach, swim and fetch just like Georgia used to.

We love our cottage and want to share it with you, so that you may experience the same charm and amenities that Port Burwell and surrounding areas have to offer.  We will treat you like our family and want you to make your own memories up there to last a lifetime.  Please don't hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable!
